The Dew
The Dew is a teapot made of glass and stainless steel. The brewing method is inspired by the traditional Italian coffee maker. Tea leaves are placed in the upper chamber. When The Dew is turned upside down, air pressure moves the liquid from the upper part to the lower part. The tea leaves stay in the upper part, so the lower part becomes the serving pot. The shape is inspired by the formation of a dewdrop, which grows slowly as moisture gathers, much like the gradual brewing of tea.
The Dew Teapot by Sean Hongxin Zhang was identified as a grand illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Award. The Dew Teapot was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware and Cookware Design in 2020. The A' Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware and Cookware Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design award that recognizes outstanding design of pots, pans, cutlery, plates, bowls, glasses, baking dishes, graters and more.
